Onion and Beetroot Pickle

Soak 1 medium thinly sliced beetroot and 3 medium onions in 3 tbsp vinegar and 3/4 cup hot water with salt in a container. Shake well and let it rest for atleast 2-3 hours.


Amla pickle

  • 300g amla - chopped
  • 2 tbsp rock salt
  • 1.5 tbsp methi seeds powder
  • 1.5 tbsp mustard seeds powder
  • 1 tsp heeng
  • 1.5 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp onion seeds (nigella seeds?)
Mix everything and pack tightly in dry glass jars.
  • 1/2 cup mustard oil
Heat until smoking. Switch off the heat and let it cool down. Pour over the amla in jars.

Keep outside for 3-4 hours.

Raw turmeric pickle


mix with green chillies, 2-3 tbsp salt and some lemon juice.
